When trust becomes the threat – closing keynote by An Gaiser

📅 October 20, 2026, in Kursaal Bern (add the conference to your calendar)

Behavioral intelligence in an artificial world

What happens when the signals we learned to trust – a familiar voice, a local dialect, authority, belonging, even the feeling that “this person is one of us” – can be artificially manufactured?

We are thrilled to present our closing keynote speaker: Dutch behavioural analyst An Gaiser will wrap up the event and discuss various aspects of deepfakes. Cybersecurity has spent decades teaching users to behave more rationally. But social engineering succeeds precisely because humans do not make decisions like security systems, especially under pressure. In this closing keynote, An explores trust as both a human vulnerability and a security capability. And she challenges one of cybersecurity’s most persistent ideas: that the human is simply the weakest link.

An Gaiser is a behavioral analyst and investigative interviewer. She worked in law enforcement and forensic psychiatry before moving on to join the Dutch intelligence service (AIVD) as a profiler. Meanwhile, An has set up her own company and works as a consultant, trainer and professional speaker.

Swiss Cyber Storm 2026 takes place on October 20 at the Kursaal Bern under the motto “Shadow IT” – when employees work around corporate policies to get things done, and what that means for security and compliance. Artificial intelligence — not just in the form of Shadow AI — will also receive ample attention, alongside other current topics.

Further information on the conference is available on our website.

  • October 12, Women in Cyber: Navigating Uncertainty In A Rapidly Evolving Cyber Threat Landscape | Geneva
The threat landscape evolves at an accelerating pace, with threat actors leveraging industrialised ransomware and rapidly advancing AI to continuously create new attack vectors. At the same time, geopolitical tensions add further unpredictability. This uncertainty brings a critical challenge: organisations must adapt rapidly to keep their defences relevant, yet adaptation can introduce direction shifts that could undermine coherence. How can organisations enable security agility without losing strategic direction? This event will bring together a panel of cybersecurity experts to explore insights and ideas spanning strategic priorities, threat intelligence, and technical implementation.
